Shanghai Entomological Museum C.A.S.
Shanghai Entomological Museum (SEM) is subordinate to Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences. The predecessor of SEM was Zhendan Museum which was established in 1930 and attached to the Chinese Academy of Science in 1953. The exhibition halls include Preface Hall, Insect Life Hall, Insect World Hall, Insects and Human Hall, Insect Culture Hall, Touch Screen Games Area and Living Showcase Area. As one of the biggest specified insect museums in China, SEM has collected more than one million insect specimens.
On May 18th International Museum Day, the open time of Shanghai Entomological Museum is 9:00-21:00 (stop entering at 20:00) and a special exhibition “The Still Life-Exhibition of Ambers” is on show.
